The response to the recall effort from San Diego’s Mayor Bob Filner was released to yesterday by recall organizers. Organizers say the response was not complete because the Mayor didn't sign it.

Now even San Diego’s Hooters restaurants are jumping on the anti-Filner bandwagon. Yesterday three San Diego area Hooters put up signs saying they wouldn't serve Bob Filner because "we believe women should be treated with respect."
And the Filner recall effort is having trouble now. One of its key organizers dials back her duties. Elisa Brent resigned as co-chairwoman of the campaign but will still help coordinate volunteers. Brent who describes herself as a housewife says and Michael Pallamary ... the leader of the recall effort ... have suffered a "complete breakdown in communication"
This morning San Diego gets two new medical facilities.
Fist at 9:00 Kaiser Permanente opens a 50,000 square foot building in Carmel Valley. It’s going to have 20 primary care offices along with 10 specialty care offices.
Then at 9:30 the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Rady Children's Hospital is opening. It’s going to have the latest in medical technology including advanced patient monitoring, lab testing, and radiology exams
At 11:00 AM a new digital communications center for 60 rural fire stations is being activated. It’s going to use the High Performance Wireless Research and Education Network at University of California San Diego for its backbone.
And Finally the Helen Woodward Animal Center is looking for a special family to take in an ailing dog. Rio, a 5-year-old rescue from Hurricane Sandy has terminal lung cancer.
