Students were asked to choose a video game character to then recreate and layer sound effects for 5 different actions he or she does. I chose Hawke from Dragon Age II and handpicked these five different skills/spells/attacks and tried to edit sound effects to match the visual cues. Not only was I trying to achieve realism, but also a representation of the character himself and his nature through my choice of sound effects.
